Over the past 40 to 45 years, we have seen a dramatic progression in dental adhesives since Buonocore introduced the technique of etching enamel with phosphoric acid to improve the adhesion to enamel.1 In fact, the first dental adhesives bonded resins to enamel only, with little or no dentin adhesion. Subsequent generations of dental adhesives have dramatically improved the bond strength to dentin and the sealing of dentin margins while retaining a strong bond to enamel.
Since patients are increasingly demanding more metal-free dentistry, the use of dental resins as cements or direct restorations will continue to
rise.
This article discusses the progression of dental adhesives to the most recent generation of dental adhesives in which all the components are contained in the composite resin restoration.

شهدنا على مدى الـعقود الأربعة الماضية تقدماً كبيراً في مواد الربط السنية منذ أن عرض Buonocore تقنية تخريش الميناء بحمض الفوسفور لتحسين الارتباط ( الالتصاق ) بالميناء.1 وفي الواقع فإن أول مواد رابطة كانت تفيد في ربط المواد الراتنجية إلى الميناء فقط مع ربط قليل أو معدوم مع العاج. وقد حسنت الأجيال اللاحقة من مواد الربط من قوة الربط بالعاج وختم الحواف المكشوفة من العاج بشكل كبير مع الاحتفاظ بروابط قوية مع الميناء.
و بسبب زيادة طلب المرضى لحشوات خالية من المعدن, فإن استخدام الكومبوزيت كمواد إلصاق أو حشي مباشرة سيستمر بالتزايد.
تتناول هذه المقالة التقدم الذي تم إحرازه في مواد الربط وصولاً إلى أحدث الأجيال التي تحتوي على جميع العناصر سوياً في حشوات الكومبوزيت.
